Public Works Foreman

Reporting and working with the Director of Public Works/Land Development the Foreman will ensure the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of the Town owned lands, facilities, infrastructure and equipment. Supervises & directs Public Works activities and employees. This position is considered a working supervisory position. The incumbent is expected to contribute labor as required to ensure timely and effective completion of all assigned duties. The successful applicant must have well developed record keeping, reporting and planning skills in addition to outstanding supervisor abilities, as well as the ability to deal effectively with the Public.

Qualifications:

Alberta Environment Level I Waste Water Treatment

Alberta Environment Level II Waste Water Collection

Alberta Environment Level II Water Distribution

Or avility and willingness to achieve all the above

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge and ability to operating heavy equipment, including grader, loaders, trucks, etc.

Duties include but not limited to:

Assist in hiring, supervision and training of staff in all aspects of utilities, road maintenance, as well as maintenance of facilities and parks.

Budget preparation and recommendation to Director of Public Works

Review operations and making appropriate changes and improvements

Provide appropriate support and leadership to team

This position is Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm with rotational on call duties paid.
