Calmar Fire Department
Calmar Fire & Rescue is run out of our fire hall, situated at 5007 49 Street. We currently have a volunteer staff of 18 men and women. Our fire hall is home to five emergency response units, consisting of County of Leduc pumper and tanker trucks, a town pump truck, a command unit and a brand new state of the art rescue unit.
Calmar Fire & Rescue responds to a variety of calls, including fires, motor vehicle collisions, and medical assistance to assist the local ambulance authority.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Town of Calmar’s new Fire Chief. My name is David Brooks and I officially started this new position on January 7, 2013. I bring with me a variety of experience in both the Fire and Medical professions. I have worked in Emergency Services for over twelve years, most of which was spent working with volunteer departments.
With me I bring my wife and two sons to the community. Originally from BC, we recently spent the last year and a half in the Municipal District of Greenview, where I worked in a similar position. We are looking forward to calling Calmar home!
I am looking forward to working with Town Administration and the Fire Department members as we continue to build and strengthen the Calmar Fire Department that serves not only the Town of Calmar but the County of Leduc as well. Currently, we are looking at a new training program to ensure our members have the proper skills and education when dealing with emergency situations to keep them safe.
We encourage and welcome anyone interested in volunteering with the Department to pick up an application at the Town of Calmar office or stop by the Fire Department any Tuesday after 7pm. We are always looking for new members.
