Mayor Sean Carnahan

Sean Carnahan and his wife moved to Calmar in 2006 with their 2 children who completed school in our local state of the art schools. He has been involved in community-based organizations such as Scouts, Minor Soccer, Minor Hockey, and Slo-Pitch.

Sean has a 10-year background in public accounting and 17 years in oil gas sector as a controller. He sat on the Calmar Economic Development Committee, developing a 5-year economic development plan to spur on local development in Calmar.

Sean’s goal as Mayor is to listen to the community and action viable opportunities and solutions that spur future growth and development of our great community, while holding onto the things that have made Calmar great today.

Councillor Carey Benson

Carey Benson is one of Calmar’s newest residents, having only recently moved to Calmar in September of 2020. Carey has a background in the trades as a Journeyman Structural Steel and Plate Fitter for over 10 years. He is a hard-working individual who knows the value of teamwork. Having this experience and positive work ethic, his hope is to be a positive influence on council and for the town residents.

Carey has also been an active member of Scouts Canada, with many different participant and volunteer roles. With his experience of informal youth education, he hopes to improve the youth experience for younger residents.

While he’s only been in Calmar for a year, his goal is to bring a younger and diverse mindset to council.

Jaime-McKeag-Reber

Councillor Jaime McKeag-Reber

Jaime is excited for the opportunity to serve and represent the residents of Calmar. Having spent the last 7 years owning and running wellness companies and being a voice for the Leduc business community, she is eager and excited to share her passion and experience towards the town she lives, owns a business and plans raise her family.

Councillor Krista Gardner

Krista Gardner was first elected to council in a by-election held in August 2016, she was re-elected in 2017 and most recently again in 2021. She has been a resident of Calmar for over 15 years and has 3 children who were born here, including one during her time as Councillor in the previous term! Krista is proud to raise her family here and to continue to work on behalf of the residents of Calmar. Krista holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Alberta and has worked in the mental health field, particularly with families and children. She is a passionate advocate for children, youth and families in our community. Krista always has a ready ear to listen to residents’ concerns and is dedicated to making Calmar a safe, welcoming and vibrant place to live, work and play.

Don-Faulkner

Councillor Don Faulkner

Don Faulkner and his wife moved to Calmar in 1993, raising 2 daughters. He has been on many town boards/committees and is a member of community based organizations such as the Legion, Calmar Slo-Pitch league to mention a few.

He has also served on council for 13 years, 10 as Mayor and 3 as a councillor, being first elected in 1998. Don’s goal over the remainder of this term is to be a positive influence on council, using his experience and knowledge to assist in making sound decisions for the betterment of our community.

Listening to the community and being a team player are important to move Calmar forward.
