My name is Terry Balaban and I was elected in March, 2015 to serve as Councilor for the Town of Calmar. One of my main objectives as councillor is to help Calmar grow as a town where residents are happy to live and where businesses wish to locate and serve our community.
I have lived in Calmar since August, 2013 when I retired, but have lived in the Edmonton Capital Region area for over 50 years.
Having worked for 35 years in the budgeting and accounting field with several large corporations in Alberta, mainly with ATCO Gas for 18 years and with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) 12 years, gives me a vast amount of experience in review and analysis of financial reports.
I have served on the Calmar Economic Development Committee as a member at large and as its Chairman for approximately one year prior to my election.
Calmar is now my permanent home which I care greatly about and want to help its residents and businesses thrive and grow as a vibrant and exciting community.
